The work of Zeus arises within an historical sensitivity that we give in calling post medieval. Result of the combination of two terms: post modernity and medievality: First it express the time at which the tendency is inserted, the Nineties of century XX; and the second, its more excellent characteristic, the creative appropriation of later plastic codes to the High Middle Age, preferred those of the Renaissance and the Baroque.
The term is an ironic reference to the postmodern denominations. Also, a joke, as much as is it some of the representative strategies of visual codification of this painting. Another one of the characteristics that define it, are his cultivated way to say and to do. Of there its return to the office. This return is it also to an inserted perspective in the traditional values of the manifestation as far as formats, techniques and preferences by the unique work. (Version. Words of the catalogue “Postmedievals in Puerto Rico”, Jorge Bermúdez. 2001).
